Scanning the old pictures

These past weeks I have been concentrating on scanning all the "old" pictures I have gathered up.  Each week I try to allot 6 hours for this project.  I have my work space set up at my Mother's place and go visit her at least twice a week for 3 or 4 hours of scanning (6 - 8 hrs each week! I feel blessed that I can put in that much time. It's a slow process but slowly getting it done).  It's been great spending this valuable time with my Mother during this process.   We have fun looking at the pictures and telling stories about them.  But not only am I scanning the pictures, I also number each one and enter the data that has been written on the back into a spreadsheet.  That way I can store the original pictures along with a copy of the spreadsheet in a safe place.  And utilize the digital copies and spreadsheet for documenting into my Legacy Genealogy Database.

My sister has the old family Bible.  What a treasure to have in the family!
