I loved the idea of having a weekly challenge using a "word prompt". However, I found quickly that I am so new in my researching that it was taking to much time trying to find something that would fit the "word prompt" that my focus was not where it should have been. After reading lots of blogs / ytube videos / etc etc., I realized there is a process in doing Genealogy. Most people (me included) get excited about filling in the boxes with their ancestors and seeing what the "hints" or "leaves" will show them. That is the fastest and easiest way to get overwhelmed and buried under a pile of paperwork. So I have stepped back and reassessed my purpose.
My purpose is to tell the story. How I am going to do that is step by step through genealogy. That one clue lending to the next and the next....
And the key is to stay organized and do one thing completely before moving onto the next one.
It's building a puzzle (finding the right piece and how it fits) and then seeing how that piece relates to the whole.
I am really excited to continue this Journey knowing it's a life long process. There really are no edges to this puzzle - it will never be completely finished.
