Week 4 - the journey continues

Week 4

This week the word prompt for my 52 Ancestors in 52 weeks was "Invite to Dinner".  I decided to share my dinner with my Uncle Dud who is 91 this Spring.  The story he told was about one of his Great Uncles.  We all have at least one relative that had a run in with the law.  Ours was Uncle Lee.  He was a cattle rustler in the Oregon/Idaho area.  One day he decided to skip bale and as the story goes, he rode off to New Mexico for about 40 years.  When he was ready to come home, it was found that the courthouse with all the records had burnt down as well as all the ranchers involved had died so he was safe to come home.  He spent his last years with his family.  It will be exciting to see what my research will find to help document the story.

The 30 minutes in 30 days Challenge:  Keeping 30 minutes in mind daily is keeping me on task with the little things.  This past week, I also worked on my sister's husband family tree.  Started first with just the people with birth and death dates as far back as I could go for the pedigree chart.  The notebook created and a few documents scanned.  The goal with this project is to get it started and organized so their daughter can take it over when she has time.

There is always something to learn.  Read, Read and Read so more.

Thank you for stopping by --  our families matter - past and present
